UPDATE – January 2026

On January 27th, 2026, BC Hydro presented to Port Moody City Council their “Burrard Thermal Plant Decommissioning and Dismantling Project”, the next step in Burrard Thermal’s journey. While a new operator or function for the plant has not yet been defined if it is to be repurposed, this is the most significant update to the site in years.
