Community Newsletter: Taking your ideas back to Victoria

Posted in: ,

It’s fall and that means in just over a week I’ll head back to Victoria. I’ll be taking ideas with me I heard from people across our community over the summer. Over the past months, I’ve met with numerous constituents one-on-one and at my MLA Cafés through out our community. They brought to me big ideas to make our province a better place to live for everyone and ideas that could make a big impact here in our local communities.

I’m grateful to everyone who took the time to speak with me. You sharing your thoughts makes it possible for me to better advocate for what our community needs.

All this week I’m at the Union of BC Municipalities meeting in Vancouver, and I head to Seattle next week for some exciting discussions at the Cascadia Innovation Corridor Conference. There are real possibilities for connection and innovation that span our region, from high-speed rail to a cross-border tech hub.

Among those I met over the past months are innovators in our community and across our province. Many are working on ideas that could have a big impact. Innovation and tech is where our province, and our communities here in the Tri-Cities, can excel. It is also a cornerstone of our government’s CleanBC plan to turn the corner on developing a sustainable economy here in B.C.

Please feel free to reach out to me through my community office. We want to hear your ideas.

Thanks, Rick
